Renewing subscriptions

Renew subscriptions to Home & Office. You can also set up auto-renewal!

To ensure that your devices stays protected, renew your subscription before it expires. You can view a subscription's expiration date on the Subscriptions () page.

If a subscription has already expired, it will remain available for renewal for 60 days. After that time, the subscription is removed from the Subscriptions page and you'll need to buy a new subscription. Your unlicensed devices will continue to show in the portal, but they will be unprotected.

Note that while you're renewing a subscription, you can't:

  • renew the subscription for more than one year.
  • change the number of licenses included in the subscription. Instead of renewing, buy a new subscription.
  • change the auto-renewal setting. After you renew, you can configure auto-renewal.

Some subscriptions are not eligible for renewal. Instead, buy a new subscription.

To renew a subscription:

  1. Do one of the following:
    • On a device's Details page, click the code under Activation Code.On a device's Details page, tap the code under Activation Code.
    • Click to open the Subscription page, and click the subscription you want to renew.Tap to open the Subscriptions page, and tap the subscription you want to renew.

    If the subscription has already expired, or it is due to expire within the next 30 days, a warning message shows.

  1. Click Renew. Tap Renew. The payment site opens.

    If the Renew button is not available, the subscription can't be renewed. Buy a new subscription.

  2. If your email address is required, enter it in the field and click Continue to checkout. If your email address is required, enter it in the field and tap Continue to checkout.
  3. [Optional] In the header bar, select a language and currency.
  4. Enter your billing and payment information and confirm your changes.

  5. When you're done, log out of the payment site and close the window.

  6. Refresh the Subscriptions page. The Expiration Date updates to show the new date.

If your subscription is not set to auto-renew, we recommend that you enable auto-renewal to ensure that your devices stay protected after the current subscription expires.

You'll also get 10% off the subscription price!

Some subscriptions are not eligible for auto-renewal.

To set up subscription auto-renewal:

  1. Do one of the following:
    • On a device's Details page, click the code under Activation Code.On a device's Details page, tap the code under Activation Code.
    • Click to open the Subscription page, and click the subscription you want to renew.Tap to open the Subscriptions page, and tap the subscription you want to renew.
  1. In the Auto Renewal area, click Enable. In the Auto Renewal area, tap Enable. The My Products page of the payment site opens.
  2. [Optional] In the header bar, select a language and currency.
  3. In the Subscription status area, click Enable auto-renewal and click Confirm. In the Subscription status area, tap Enable auto-renewal and tap Confirm.
  4. If you don't want to receive an email notification when the subscription is up for renewal, clear the checkbox and click Save. If you don't want to receive an email notification when the subscription is up for renewal, clear the checkbox and tap Save.

  5. When you're done, log out of the payment site and close the window.

  6. Refresh the Subscriptions page. The Auto Renewal setting is updated.

If you don't want to renew a subscription, or you want to renew it manually, you can turn off auto-renewal , if it's enabled.

To turn off subscription auto-renewal:

  1. Do one of the following:
    • On a device's Details page, click the code under Activation Code.On a device's Details page, tap the code under Activation Code.
    • Click to open the Subscription page, and click the subscription you want to renew.Tap to open the Subscriptions page, and tap the subscription you want to renew.
  1. In the Auto Renewal area, click Disable. In the Auto Renewal area, tap Disable. The My Products page of the payment site opens.
  2. [Optional] In the header bar, select a language and currency.
  3. In the Subscription status area, click Stop automatic subscription renewal. In the Subscription status area, tap Stop automatic subscription renewal.
  1. If a Reason field shows, click it and select an option. If a Reason field shows, tap it and select an option.
  2. Click Stop auto-renewal. Tap Stop auto-renewal.

  3. When you're done, log out of the payment site and close the window.

  4. Refresh the Subscriptions page. The Auto Renewal setting is updated.

If you've set up auto-renewal of a subscription, you can add a new credit card.

To update the billing information for auto-renewal:

  1. Do one of the following:
    • On a device's Details page, click the code under Activation Code.On a device's Details page, tap the code under Activation Code.
    • Click to open the Subscription page, and click the subscription you want to renew.Tap to open the Subscriptions page, and tap the subscription you want to renew.
  1. In the Auto Renewal area, click Update Billing Information. In the Auto Renewal area, tap Update Billing Information. The My Products page of the payment site opens.
  2. [Optional] In the header bar, select a language and currency.
  3. In the Subscription status area, click Update payment method. In the Subscription status area, tap Update payment method.
  4. Enter new credit card details and click Save. Enter new credit card details and tap Save.

  5. When you're done, log out of the payment site and close the window.
